<p><span>On Thursday at the International Builder&rsquo;s Show in Orlando, Florida, Bob McLeod will be awarded the 12th annual Hearthstone BUILDER Humanitarian Award recognizing his lifetime achievement in the areas of public service and philanthropy. Bob was nominated by HomeAid for all the work our teams around the country did through Life is good&reg; Pumpkin Festivals, and board and chapter volunteerism. But it was not simply these efforts that were called out in the committee&rsquo;s final decision to select Bob. </span></p>
<p><span>From Miracle Home Network benefit homes in Eagle Ridge, to Homes For Our Troops homes in Stonemill Farms and our Houston communities, to the Telfair Charity of Your Choice Walk, Arbor Day events, and that community&rsquo;s support of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, to the support of the Chatham Arts Council and trail development and preservation for the Triangle Off Road Cyclists at Briar Chapel, the FishHawk Ranch Road Race (12 years in the running!), the development of the Goodyear History Museum at Estrella, Newland&rsquo;s support of schools and county libraries across the country, and our founding support of the USGBC&rsquo;s Green Home guide, there were many examples all across the country of Newland&rsquo;s positive contributions of our greater communities that were cited when Bob and Newland was chosen for this award. </span></p>
<p><span>&ldquo; It&rsquo;s really all of you, our teams, who deserve the credit for this award,&rdquo; says Bob. &ldquo; You did it, and do it every day&rdquo;.&nbsp; Bob&rsquo;s personal financial contributions to educational and health care institutions have also been significant, as has his work as a Governor of the ULI Foundation. In addition to the personal and professional recognition that comes with this award, the Hearthstone Builder Foundation will make a $100,000 contribution to the charity of Bob&rsquo;s choice. He has elected to provide this money to HomeAid, as their work providing shelter for the temporarily homeless and their deep involvement with the building industry ties directly to what we do. </span></p>
<p><span>Our regional marketing teams have worked hard this past week with their local PR consultants to localize this news and leverage as much local community media coverage as well. </span><a href="http://www.newlandcommunities.com/News/NewsPost.aspx?post=24758"><span>Read the national press release here.</span></a></p>
<p><span>Congratulations to everyone at Newland, and to Bob for this deserving recognition and for joining an esteemed group of fellow recipients in this honor.</span></p>

<p>On Sunday, August 22, you're invited to tour a very special home
in the Eagle Ridge community in southwest Spokane.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Called the 'Miracle Home' this 3088 square foot ranch-style
home, with 1544 square feet of main floor living, was built to
raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) of the Inland
Northwest. When sold, proceeds from the sale of the home will go
CMN to purchase life-saving equipment for specialized care and
support for pediatric services and programs in twelve Eastern
Washington hospitals.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This home was built with love and we know whomever purchases it
will enjoy living there for years to come," says Phil Folyer, owner
of Morse Western Homes who built the 2010 Miracle Home with support
and donated materials from subcontractors and many Spokane
businesses.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Miracle Home is situated on a hill-top with unobstructed
views the Latah Valley. The home has two-bedrooms, two and a half
baths with a three car garage. The single-story ranch-style home
was designed with upper end finishing touches such as granite
countertops, custom cabinetry, abundance of hardwood floors, Master
bedroom with beautiful walk-in mud set shower, tile floors and a
soaking tub. Other amazing features include an oversized side-entry
three car garage, designer touches throughout the home, Stainless
Steel appliances with gas range, great room with gas fireplace and
stone accenting. The home also showcases a covered patio off the
dining room, a fully fenced and landscaped yard with a premier view
in the newest ridge top neighborhood. It is located within walking
distance of Eagle Ridge's forested Whispering Pines Park,
playgrounds and five miles of scenic walking trails.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is the third Miracle Home built at Eagle Ridge to raise
funds for the Children's Miracle Network. The first Miracle Home
was built in 2007 by Condron Homes and then in 2009 Paras Homes
built the second Miracle Home. Together the sale of the first two
Miracle Homes at Eagle Ridge have raised upwards of $370,000 for
the Children's Miracle Network of the Inland Northwest making it
possible to purchase life-saving equipment including the first
pediatric ambulance in the Pacific Northwest which services
Providence Holy Family, Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children's
Hospital.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Priced at $375,000, the 2010 Miracle Home is decorated by
Marianne Morse and is open for viewing from 11:00 PM - 5:00 PM
weekends and from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM during the week, following the
Grand Opening.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Bring the whole family to the Miracle Home Grand Opening for
free ice cream, lemonade, face painting and kite flying," says Lori
Henriksen General Manager of Eagle Ridge developer Newland
Communities. "When you visit you'll see that Eagle Ridge is a
community that offers a close-knit family of neighbors from all
over who have become fast friends. We have a website just for
residents with a year round events calendar which means there's
always something fun to do here Eagle Ridge."</p>
